Gender Equality III - Women in Science, Innovation and Technology in the Digital Age




The European Commission announced that this year the Women ICT Conference 2011 will be held in Budapest, Hungary. 

Women across Europe will have the opportunity to look at and report on developments of women in science and more specifically in the ICT sector from different angles.


The conference will cover the following topics:

  • The Education Perspective - getting more girls to STEM
  • The Research & Innovation Perspective - the added value of the gender dimension 
  • The Entrepreneurship Perspective - Attracting venture capital to women's technology enterprises
  • The Workforce Perspective - the added value of diversity in the workforce
  • The Leadership & Media Perspective - Women in leadership in the 21st century

The "European drawing competion to reward girls creativity about the future technologies" deadline was February, 20, 2011. The winners will be present at the Conference. 

The winners drawing will be exhibited on 7-8 March 2011 in the building of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the  venue of the high-level conference hosting the Prize-Award Ceremony.

The conference will highlight the important contribution women and girls are making in the area of ICT, technology and innovation. There is no entrance fee at the conference, however pre-registration
 was  necessary by 20th February.
